Friday was Jean and Harry's last full day here. We prepared a picnic and spent the day in Virginia Water. There we visited the Royal Landscape and had a picnic in the Savill Garden. It was a beautiful days as well as the last day before the end of the summer holiday so it was pretty crowded. Saturday Jean and Harry flew back to VA. Sunday we went to church at the cathedral in Guildford. We went to a lovely Italian restaurant afterwards to celebrate Christopher's birthday. Monday was Harry's first day of school. After spending the morning rolling on the floor telling me he did not want to go to school he came home in the afternoon telling me he wanted to go everyday. I would say it was a successful first day. He will go 5 mornings a week and stay for lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Kate started school yesterday and was very excited. She had a great first day and told me there were 27 kids in her class with one teacher! When we arrived everyone was seated nicely on the carpet waiting for the teacher to give instruction. Pretty amazing to me.
