Today is Kate's sixth birthday. I can hardly believe it. She opened and read all of her birthday cards never asking me once to help her with a word. What a big girl.
Yesterday we celebrated by hosting a tea party for twelve of her school friends. They were thoroughly entertained a woman and her daughter who came and helped the girls make their own bear, dog, or hippo. They loved it. Following that, they had tea.
When we first moved here, people would say they had tea in the oven and I thought they meant Earl Grey and some scones. Quickly I realized they were referring to supper. So when the girls realized they were getting actual tea, they were delighted. I don't think they enjoyed drinking the tea as much as adding the pink sugar and cream to it.
