Weekend

We had a nice long weekend getting ready to move into our house in Crowthorne.  Andy and Sherry kept all the children for us so we could do the walk through on Friday.  Everything was fine but our relo consultant stayed for 3 hours making sure everything was clean and in working order.  She was much more thorough than I.  Friday night Christopher and I drove to Southampton which is on the coast and home to the Ikea.  We bought dishes, towels, bath mats, etc.  Exciting night out, huh.  We were delighted to find an Indian restaurant about a 1 minute walk from our rental house.  The food is not too bad either.  Saturday after giving Andy and Sherry a tour of the house, we sent them on the train to London.   They enjoyed a show and dinner out.  We stayed behind and watched the big soccer match between Manchester United and Barcelona with our neighbor from downstairs. Unfortunately Manchester lost. I braved another car ride behind the wheel on Saturday as well.  We are now missing part of our tire thanks to the curb that I hit.  Sunday everyone except for Joseph and me went to church at the chapel at Windsor Castle.  Harry was once again in awe of the swords on display in the church.  We had a proper Sunday roast at one of the pubs down the street and a brief walk in the fields of Eton.  It was a fun day.   We were sad to tell Andy and Sherry goodbye this morning.  They are headed back to Raleigh and we are ready for more visitors!!  These next few nights will be the last we will spend in Eton with the fabulous view of Windsor Castle.  I will miss living here because of the fabulous location but I think we are tired of feeling like tourists and ready to have some more space, a proper garden and at last an ice maker!

  3. You had to go all the way to England to visit Southampton? The Jackson 3 are in Southampton, Virginia :-)

Hope we'll be able to visit sometime after Randy graduates. Glad you're getting settled.
